The data vanished
On-call incident: after a restart every order is gone. The data is not lost, it is in a volume the database is no longer using.
The ticket
Support: The admin page says we have 0 orders and 0 customers. Yesterday we had over a thousand! 😰
Dev (Sam): I "upgraded" shop-db yesterday: docker rm -f shop-db, then docker run postgres:15 again. Same image, same name, nothing else changed…
